Before creating your presentation just keep these 5W's in your mind.

WHAT:
Should have a solid understanding of the topics of what you are going to present.
WHO:
Who is making the presentation is as important as knowing who is the target audience. so you should have clearly understanding of the target audience to whom you are going to present it.
WHY:
Why this presentation is important ,asking this question to yourself give you the strength to communicate to the audience more effectively.
WHERE:
Presentation design is affected by venue at which the presentation is going to take place is it a large auditorium or small office. ,
WHEN:
Knowing when the presentation is to be given effects how it is received.
NUMBER OF SLIDE:
- Prepare with less number of slides, keep the number of slides minimum.
- More the number of slides more complex it will look and it will not attract the attention of participants.
SIMPLE LANGUAGE:
- The language used should be simple and understood by all.
- Avoid using jargon and slang language.
- The only single topic should explain in a slide.
- Do not overlap sub topics in the same slide.
READABLE FONT:
- Nobody likes to put strain on their eyes while going through the content of the presentation.
- Font and size should be readable even from the end of the room without any strain on the eyes.
- You can use bold and italics for highlighting text.
AVOID USING UPPERCASE IN ALL
- When you write all the text in ppt in upper case only it looks like shouting over the head.
- When all text is in upper case it makes difficult for the readers to read it.
TEMPLATE USE:
- Template use in the ppt is important.
- Always use templates matching the need of the topics.
USE IMAGES:
- Images speaks louder than the word.
- Use images for explaining some complex topics.
- You can also use flow charts to make your design more powerful and easy to look and to simplify the content.
BACKGROUND:
- Avoid using dark color text with dark background color and light color text on light color background.
- Background color should be simple and should complement the color of text.
